Project Types: Employment Market Research

Client: Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley wanted to determine the possibility of targeting African students currently studying either in the UK or in identified African countries, with a view to recruiting them to work in the organisation’s offices in the UK and US.
Through investigating the higher education sector in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria, and determining the relevant student population here in the UK, we were able to identify the best universities from which to recruit and the optimum methods for reaching potential graduate employees.
The four-week project involved a wide-ranging internet search, discussions with relevant professional bodies, universities and embassies and analysis of statistics sourced from HESA, UCAS and the British Council. Findings were presented in a country-by-country format, with an executive summary on each, supported by a comprehensive report of findings, conclusions and recommendations, which shaped Morgan Stanley’s subsequent recruitment strategy.
