Part of the objective of developing a global Employer Value Proposition for Hess was to enhance its potential to recruit and retain in the highly competitive oil industry employment market. As one of a number of research strands we were commissioned to undertake a review of the EVP and relevant communications of ten key competitors for talent.
With such a potentially vast amount of information to assimilate and report on we developed the project in two tiers. A detailed report on each organization was prepared of between 10 and 15 pages depending on organizational size. Each report featured relevant visual information, charts and illustrations where necessary. We also prepared for presentation purposes a much more streamlined and visually led PowerPoint presentation which covered corporate overview, the corporate and careers websites, corporate values, key themes and messages and other forms of communications such as recruitment and corporate advertising, exhibition stands, diversity brochures and graduate marketing materials. The exercise clearly showed the differences in approach to employees and potential employees by the various different organizations and allowed Hess to ensure significant differentiation in the articulation of their employment offer.
