We've been reviewing online research suppliers over the last few months. There are many options out there, but few that combine comparative ease of programming, broad ranging analysis and reporting options, fool-proof technical support and data security and, of course, cost-effectiveness.
I think it inappropriate to mention specific products. But I am astonished at how many organisations use free survey tools downloaded from the web.
Admittedly some of these are very good at doing the job. I used one very successfully many years ago.
But I stopped doing so when an organisation that was particularly keen on security wanted to know where the data relating to their survey was being collected and stored and how secure it was.
Although many of the better organisations can make a good claim on data security processes and procedures, we'd rather know that all the information relating to what employees think about some of the world's most significant company's is either secure on one of our own servers or under the very strict supervision of a technology partner.
